How it works

From seed to structured market — transparent at every step.

The Community Grains Bank is a farmer-first workflow: register, map, train, plant, monitor, aggregate, sell and pay. Every step is visible to the farmer, the sponsor and the buyer.

01

Farmer & landowner registration

Register online or with a field officer. Verified profiles receive a unique farmer or landowner number.

02

GIS mapping & five-acre blocks

Land is GPS-mapped and divided into productive five-acre blocks with unique numbers.

03

Training & agronomy

Extension officers train farmers on land preparation, planting, pest control and post-harvest handling.

04

Quality inputs on credit

Certified seed, cassava cuttings, sweet-potato vines, fertiliser and chemicals delivered per block.

05

Production & monitoring

Activities, inputs, weather and crop health are tracked with photo evidence and traffic-light risk indicators.

06

Aggregation & storage

Produce is weighed, graded and stored in the Community Grains Bank warehouses with full traceability.

07

Structured markets & payment

Buyers are matched, invoices raised and farmers paid via M-Pesa, Airtel Money or bank transfer.

08

Statements & impact

Every farmer, sponsor and buyer sees transparent statements, receipts and season summaries.
